Over the years we have compiled a list of  useful information which may help you during your stay with Derwent Living.

Where is the…?

Police Station? The nearest police station is on little Park Street in the town centre.

Post Office? There is a post office at the train station, which is approximately five minutes walk away along Warwick Road.

Town Centre/Market Place? The main city centre is approximately ten minutes walk away from Lynden House if you turn left at the end of Spencer Road. An alternative is to turn right and go into Earlsden town centre, which has a lot of the same sort of stuff,

University? The University is located just outside the city centre very close to Coventry cathedral. Again walk into town or catch the bus and you should find it.

Cinema? There is a massive entertainment complex called Skydome in the city centre which also includes ice skating and restaurants and a nightclub.

Railway station? The railway station is about a five minute walk away, left down Warwick Road.

When is the market? There is an indoor market selling fresh fruit and veg and the like called the Coventry indoor market which is also in the city centre.

Nearest supermarket? The nearest supermarkets are located in the city centre. Iceland, Co-Op and Sainsburys are all there.

When do I have to pay my rent? The University delivers a statement once a term generally about three weeks into the term, for it to be paid by the end of the following week or they receive a 10% surcharge.

Dentists and doctors? All students need to register at the University Medical Centre, which is on the university campus. There is a dentist about two houses down from Lynden House which is private. However the medical centre can provide you with details on NHS registered dentists if you speak to them.

Banks? I never recommend any banks. For information purposes there is a cash machine in the Central Six out-of-town shopping place, which is just left down the Warwick Road. There is also a bank at the train station.

Bus Stop? There is a bus stop just outside of Lynden House, which has routes that will take you into the city centre, and to the bus station, where you can obviously get buses to anywhere else you may want to go.

The Lynden House office is open at the following times:

Monday 8am-4pm
Wednesday 8am-4pm
Friday 8am-4pm

If there is no-one there and it is during normal daytime hours please phone 0845 601 0335.

If it is the weekend or out-of-office hours, then please call 01162550711.
