Having problems with your flat mates

What to do if you are having problems with your flat mates?

In the first instance we encourage students to try and discuss their concerns with the people whose behaviour is affecting them. This is an important life skill. The best approach is to usually describe to the other person how their behaviour is affecting you. e.g. “When you have your music on late at nights it wakes me up. I need plenty of sleep and when I’m tired I feel really down”. You could then suggest what might help e.g. “Do you think that we could agree a maximum volume?”.

If this doesn’t work or if the problems are more serious you may need to involve a member of staff from the site office. More information is available on our Anti Social Behaviour Policy.
