Arrival at The Canalside
Arrival
Tenancy starts on 17th September 2011.
Our office will be open during that weekend between 10 am and 4 pm.
Then weekdays only 9 am – 5 pm
A member of staff will be there to welcome you.
If you arrive outside of our normal office hours you should contact a member of The Canalside Team as early as possible to make arrangements as this may not always be possible.

See our map to find details of our location which includes the option to get directions from your post code. Once at The Canalside please follow the signs to The Management Suite in The Lockhouse.
Parking
Parking on Key Weekend may be difficult as The Canalside have no on-site parking facilities, however there are pay and display car park spaces available on Lower Loveday Street, but these may be in high demand.
There is a Car Park opposite The Canalside that is again pay and display - it is advised that your vehicle must always have a valid parking ticket on it.
The site will be very busy, therefore please follow the instructions of on-site staff at all times, unload as quickly as possible and with almost 600 students arriving please be patient.
Collection of Keys
Please bring the following documents with you:
- Confirmation letter/ Accommodation offer
- Student’s ID, or enrolment letter plus other Photo ID
- Passport size photograph (if you have not send it in earlier)
- Completed Residency Form (this can be completed on arrival)
If you have all above documents on our opening day you will be fast-tracked through our system and beat the queues!
Your friend can collect your keys, however we require a letter from you confirming the name of the authorized person who will need to bring their Photo ID.
You will still need to visit our office on arrival to complete a residency form.
Payments
- If the rent is outstanding you can pay by Credit or Debit Card on or before your arrival
- £175 discount will be given to those who pay the full amount of rent in advance
- No cheques or cash will be accepted during Key Weekend
- No keys will be issued unless the first instalment is paid and all required documents have been received and accepted
Should any further paperwork be required you will have been informed and must bring it with you on the day you wish to move in.

What should I bring?
You will need to bring your own bed linen, including duvet and pillow, also basics such as saucepans, cooking dishes, plates, bowls, cutlery and crockery.
