We understand that you may have a lot of questions before moving into your new room.
Below is a list of FAQ's to help answer any questions you may have.

How close is the university?
Leicester Uni is a 10 minute walk, De Montfort Uni is a 13 minute walk from Regents court.
How far is the city centre?
The city centre is 1 mile away, a 7 minute walk.
Is there a medical centre nearby?
The royal infirmary is 4 minute walk.
Where is the nearest cashpoint?
Located on Crescent street the nearest cashpoint is a 2 minute walk.
Where is the nearest police station?
Houlditch police station is 1.6 miles from Regents court.
Where is the nearest post office?
A 5 minute walk located on London road.
Where is the nearest gym?
The Uni gym is a 10 minute walk, or there is a shuttle bus available from the Uni of Leicester – Upperton road there is a gym on site that you can use if you are a resident here at Regents. The cost for the shuttle bus is £1 and runs from 8am – 7.30pm.
How far are the bus/train stations?
The train station is located on London road, a 5 minutes walk.
Where's the nearest bus stop?
On Regents road, Crescent street.
What's in my room?
Your room is fully furnished with: bed, desk, desk chair, wardrobe.
What is included in the kitchen?
Kitchens come equipped with: two or four ring electric hob, full size oven, and small fridge with freezer compartment. You will need to provide your own crockery and cooking utensils. Starter packs are available to pre-order before you arrive - see our homepage.
Who cleans my flat?
You are responsible for cleaning your room.
Can I bring a pet?
Sorry, pets are not permitted on any Derwent Students properties.
Where can I do my laundry?
You can do your laundry in your flat as there is a washer/ dryer in the kitchen.
Can I personalise my room?
We ask that you don't put posters on your walls as any damage caused will be chargeable.
Can I have guests to stay?
Guests are permitted for a maximum of 2 nights in any week. Please sign them in at reception on arrival.
Can I bring my car?
We do have a car park available for residents, however spaces are limited and booked in advance.
Is there anywhere I can store my bike?
There is a bike shed on site which is free to use.
Where do I collect my post from?
Parcels and post can be collected from reception.
How do I report maintenance issues?
We now have our very own Repair app. Download the ‘Main Manager’ app onto your smart phone or tablet and then get the site code from Reception. Enter the code into the app and then you can log any problems you’re having with your accommodation.
Can I change my room?
Depending on availability and circumstances room changes can be arranged. A £50+VAT admin fee will apply.
Do I need to have a TV Licence?
You will need to purchase a TV licence if you wish to watch or stream live TV in your flat.
Can I store my possessions in the summer?
If you are staying with us for the next academic year we may be able to store up to 3 boxes of non-valuable items.
Can I book for summer?
This depends on availability. If we are fully booked, current students can extend their stay for a week, or new residents can arrive a week early.
Can I arrive early?
If there are rooms available we can sometimes arrange early arrivals. Additional rent fees will apply - please see the team for more information.
What about safety and security on site?
We have CCTV on site, only residents and staff have access to the building. Out of hours assistance is available via a dedicated phone line.
